Advising Information

2009-2010 Academic Year

Below is advising information for all honor students, athletes, pre-professional students and Professional Division (BSPS and PharmD) students.

Pre-professional Division Students:

Pre-professional division students will seek advising in the Office of Student Affairs (1227 WO, phone 419-530-1904). Adviser assignment is based on the first letter of student’s last name:

A-D: Dawn Ray/Deb Sobczak

E-S: Christine Wickenheiser/Deb Sobczak

T-Z: Jose Trevino/Deb Sobczak

  • Mandatory group advising workshops will be held during the first few weeks of each semester. This session meets only one time per semester. Refer to your schedule (PHPR1000 ADM) for the exact date of your workshop.
  • Individual appointments can be made by either stopping into Wolfe Hall 1227 or by calling 419.530.1904. When making an appointment, you will be asked to give your name, student ID number, phone number and reason for appointment. Most appointments are for 30 minutes.

Walk-in advising will be available for brief questions or concerns on a first come-first served basis. Requests to meet with a specific advisor cannot be accommodated during walk-in’s.  Office staff reserves the right to schedule a regular individual appointment for a student if his/her circumstances are extensive.

  • Wednesdays,  8:30 am – noon; 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Office of Student Affairs, WO 1227
  • Thursdays, 3:30 – 4:30 pm, Carter East Residence Hall, Room 4320
  • Fridays, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Office of Student Affairs, WO 1227

Honor Students and Athletes:

  • You will be notified of your assigned faculty adviser via email. Schedule an individual appointment to meet with your faculty adviser.
  • Group advising workshops are required for Honor students. Please refer to above information.

BSPS Professional Division Students (P1 or P2 Year):

  • You will be notified of your assigned faculty adviser via email. Make an appointment for advising with your assigned adviser. Your faculty adviser may refer you to Jing Meyer, Coordinator of Advising for the Professional Division.
  • Group advising will be held during the academic year. Students will be notified of time and location via email.

PharmD Professional Division Students (P1 through P4 Year):

  • You will be notified of your assigned faculty adviser via email. Make an appointment for advising with your assigned adviser. Your faculty adviser may refer you to Jing Meyer, Coordinator of Advising for the Professional Division.
  • Group advising will be held during the academic year. Students will be notified of time and location via email.
