Although recent advances in CdTe technology have lead to improved devices, many challenges in this materials system remain. PVIC researchers are working to understand and overcome these shortcomings through investigating the materials and their interactions with one another and fabricating and testing devices. We have broken our research down into four broad categories: Front of the device, Absorber layer, Back contact, and Semitransparent devices for bifacial solar cells.
