Jefferson Awards for Public Service
Jefferson Awards Program to be Implemented in February 2009. Every day, people at The University of Toledo strive to meet our mission of "Improving the Human Condition" through volunteer service. In February, the efforts of our faculty, staff, employees and students will be recognized as UT forms a "Champion" partnership with the Jefferson Awards.
The Jefferson Awards is a national program founded in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft Jr. and Sam Beard. This organization recognizes people who perform extraordinary acts of volunteer public service within their communities. UT is one of 27 Corporate Champion partners across the United States.
