    Housing Assignment Process
    All students wishing to live in on-campus housing will have the opportunity to select their own room assignment and roommate if they submit their completed application by Friday, July 17, 2009. This process will be done through a reservation system which allows students, on a first-come, first-serve basis, to self select available rooms. All reservation times will be assigned based on the student's payment received date, and if applicable, displacement status and Living Learning Community preference. Students will be notified by e-mail about a week before their room reservation time so they can participate in the Room Reservation Process.

    Students who apply after July 17, 2009 will be manually assigned to a room, by the Office of Residence Life staff, if space permits, or they may be placed in to alternate spaces such as lounges converted to bedrooms, vacant spaces in McComas Village or at a local hotel, until a permanent space becomes available.  To avoid disappointment because a room or the style of room you want is not available, please apply early and select a room during your assigned reservation time.

    Returning Student Timeline - UPDATED
    February 16: Housing application available online through myUT portal. A $200 housing pre-payment fee is required.
    March 12:

     Room Selection Time slots generated. Students who apply after March 12, will be able to renew their room between March 18th and March 23rd and will need to wait until March 30th to search for other rooms and assign roommates.

    March 18: Renew your current room, if available.
    March 23: Renew a different room in your same residence hall, if available.
    March 23: If you renewed a room and space is available in the room, you may assign the empty bed in your room to a confirmed roommate.
    March 23 - May 12: You may change your room reservation to any available room. You will first have to cancel your current room reservation before you can select another room.
    March 30: Reservation times for all open rooms in all available residence halls begin. First-come, first-reserved.
    April 1:
    You can complete your application, make payment, and reserve a room without waiting for a reservation time, as space is available.
    May 13: Online room reservation closed to returners.
    June 30: Last day to cancel your application-contract without penalty fees.


    New Student Timeline
    January 20: Housing application available online through myUT portal. A $240 ($40 non-refundable application fee and $200 housing pre-payment) fee is required.
    May 13: Reservation times for all open rooms begin. First-come, first-reserved. Reservation times are assigned according to your payment received date and Living-Learning preferences, if applicable.
    May 13 - July 17:
    You may change your room reservation to any available room. You will first have to cancel your current room reservation before you can select another room.
    June 18: You can complete your application, make payment and reserve a room without waiting for a reservation time, as space is available.
    June 30: Last day to cancel your application-contract without penalty fees.
    July 18: Online room reservation closed. Applications will still be available online.
