Alcohol and Substance Free Floor

The Alcohol and Substance Free floors are intended to provide an active living environment centered around an alcohol and substance-free lifestyle.

Many of our residence halls offer alcohol and substance free floors to meet the goals of alcohol and substance free living, the following expectations are in place for residents of the floor:

  • Refrain from using alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, products, other smoking materials, illegal drugs, and inhalants; and ensure that guests also follow these guidelines.
  • Refrain from returning to the alcohol and substance free environment if they are under the influence of a substance.

It is the expectation that as a member of the community, residents living in an alcohol and substance free floor will:

  • Actively support other community members in their attempts to live in an alcohol and substance free lifestyle within the community.
  • Work together to set a community of standards early in the academic year that will define the floor atmosphere.
