As the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Director of Residence Life, Valerie provides leadership and oversight to the Division of Student Affairs with primary responsibility for the administration of the Office of Residence Life, the Office of Student Recreational Services, and Student Union facilities.

Matthew Perry currently serves as the Associate Director for Residence Life. In his role, Matt provides guidance and leadership in developing a comprehensive Residence Life program that focuses on student and staff development, training and recruitment efforts, policy development, student conduct, student engagement, and retention efforts. Matt deeply believes that each Rocket in and outside the residence halls should feel accepted, engaged and involved with campus life. Outside of his main duties, Matt enjoys advising student leaders, serving on the University Council on Diversity and serving as a member of the LGBTQA+ Advisory Board, and volunteering in the local Toledo community. Matt received his M.S.E. in Higher Education from The University of Dayton and B.A. in Spanish from Wilmington College.

Bradley Menard

Brad Menard currently serves as the Associate Director for Housing in the Office of Residence Life. He oversees areas such as assignments, marketing, department communication, contracts, billing, and assessment. Brad supervises the Assistant Director of Residential Marketing and Housing, the Housing Manager, and the Front Office Secretary. Prior to coming to The University of Toledo, Brad worked in housing and residence life departments at the University of West Florida, George Mason University and Grinnell College. As a first generation college student, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Oneonta in History and a Master’s Degree from Iowa State University in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Brad’s passion for working in student affairs comes from the amazing mentors he has had as a student and professional, guiding him and pushing him to grow, his goal is to do the same for his students and staff.   

Mark Brooks

Mark Brooks currently serves at the Assistant Director of Building Services for Residence Life. His overall responsibilities are for the operations of the building services within the residential communities, ensuring the effectiveness of Quality Control and Inspection program to include quality processes, practices and systems are in compliance with University policies and procedures. Mark received his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. Before coming to the University of Toledo he worked as the General Manager of the Breakers Express hotel at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio.

Adam Bohland currently serves as the Assistant Director for Residential Marketing and Housing at the University of Toledo. He earned his bachelor's degree from Tiffin University in Business Administration with a concentration in Hospitality and Tourism. He received his Master in Higher Education from The University of Toledo in May 2014. Before joining the team at UT, Adam worked in food service management at Bowling Green State University.

Brian Rolinc currently serves as the Housing Manager for the Office of Residence Life. Brian graduated from Ohio University, where he was a resident assistant, with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a minor in history.  He received his Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Kent State University. Prior to becoming the Housing Manager at The University of Toledo, Brian worked as a Hall Director at Baldwin Wallace University and The University of Toledo.

Brad Ledingham currently serves as the Area Coordinator for the Office of Residence Life overseeing the suite style residence halls.  Brad comes to UT with previous professional experience in Residence Life at Michigan State University and Buffalo State College (SUNY).  Previous to that, Brad worked full time in the Department of Public Safety at Eastern Michigan University.  Brad has many experiences working with students in higher education: Advisor to Residence Hall Association, Advisor to LGBTQA organizations, Student Conduct, and many other areas that support the educational mission of Higher Education.  Brad has received four degree’s in his college career: Associates of General Education and Associates of Arts and Science from Macomb Community College; Bachelors of Social Work and Masters of Art in Educational Leadership and Counseling from Eastern Michigan University.  He is looking forward to continuing his education in the future.  Brad is an alumni member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, Inc.

Desmond Harvey currently serves as the Interim Area Coordinator/Hall Director for Academic House MacKinnon, Scott, and Tucker Halls. Desmond graduated from The University of Toledo in 2014 with his Bachelor of Recreational Therapy. He recently earned a Masters in Recreation and Leisure Studies through the University of Toledo. During his undergraduate years, Desmond served as a Resident Adviser at UT for two years and also played with the Women's Basketball team as a practice player.

Melody Orlu currently serves as the Graduate Assistant Hall Director for Academic House. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Recreational Therapy pre-occupational Therapy in 2015. During her time as an undergraduate student she was involved in organizations like National Pan-Hellenic Council, Delta Sigma Theta, Black Student Union, The Advancement of African-American Woman, and F.I.R.E Squad. She started her Masters in Medical Social Work at Ohio State. She will be completing her Master’s degree at University of Toledo.

Cayla Mitchell currently serves as the Hall Director for Carter Hall. She earned her Bachelors Degree in History and Masters in Higher Education at The University of Toledo. As an undergraduate student, Cayla served as a Resident Adviser for three years at UT and one year at Eastern Illinois University while participating in the Resident Assistant Exchange program.

Will Avery serves as the International House Hall Director for the Office of Residence Life. Will graduated from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s in Communication: Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Sports Studies. He also graduated from Murray State University with a master’s in Human Development & Leadership: College Student Personnel. Will has residence life experience at various levels from schools in North Carolina, Kentucky, Alabama and Texas as well as leadership experience from involvement within the halls, Greek life, and his church.

Jesse Codjoe serves as the Graduate Assistant Hall Director at Horton International House. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management at the University of Toledo in 2017. During his years as an undergraduate student he served as a Resident Adviser for five years. He was also a member of the Klar Leadership Academy. He was also a member of the Student National Pharmaceutical Association. Jesse is currently working towards his MBA with a focus in Human Resource and Leadership.

Victoria Jordan serves as the Graduate Assistant Hall Director at Mackinnon, Scott, and Tucker Halls. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Psychology with minors in Counseling and Communications at The University of Toledo graduating in May of 2017. During her time as an undergraduate she served as a Resident Adviser, Senior Resident Adviser, Orientation Leader, and a member of Greek life. Victoria is pursuing her Masters of Counselor Education with a focus in School Counseling starting in the Fall of 2017.

Leron Burge currently serves as the Senior Hall Director for McComas Village. Leron graduated from Marshall University with a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in Education, and earned his Masters of Arts in Post-secondary and Higher Education from Argosy University.  Leron was a Resident Advisor for 3 years at Marshall University, as well as being involved in many student organizations, which lead him to pursue a career in higher education.  In addition, Leron is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and enjoys being connected with the Greek Life community.

Alyssa Maldonado currently serves as the Graduate Assistant Hall Director for McComas Village. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Science and a minor in Spanish from the University of Toledo in May 2017. During her time as an undergraduate student she was involved in several organizations including Greek life, Rockethon, and Relay for Life. She is now working towards her master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus in Health Care.

Nickole currently services as the Hall Director for Ottawa House. Nickole received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Spanish from The Ohio State University. She did her graduate work at University of Dayton, where she was a Residence Coordinator and received her M.S.Ed. in College Student Personnel. During her undergraduate career, she was a Resident Advisor for two years, served on the Residence Halls Advisory Council's executive board, and served on the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) Buckeye Chapter's executive board. During both undergraduate and graduate school, Nickole served on the Regional Board of Directors for the Central Atlantic of College and University Residence Halls (CAACURH). Along with Jennifer Pietch, Nickole also currently serves as the co-advisor for the Resident Student Association and the Wayne L. Gates Chapter of NRHH.

Jennifer Pietch serves as the Graduate Assistant Hall Director at Ottawa House. She earned her Bachelors Degree in Social Work with a minor in Counseling at the University of Toledo graduating in 2016. During her time as an undergraduate student she served as a Resident Adviser and Senior Resident Adviser for four years. Jennifer will be entering her second year of the Masters of Higher Education program, graduating in May of 2018.

Aaron Czechowski has been employed by the University of Toledo since January 2001 and has been with the Office of Residence Life since September 2013. Kenneth Carter currently serves as a Student Conduct Hearing Officer and Reconditioning Staff Manager for the Office of Residence Life. He graduated from The University of Toledo in 2012 with his Bachelors in Sociology and Minor in Counseling. Previously, Kenneth was an appointed student leader for the Student Activities Committee at UT and currently sits on the Student Conduct Hearing Board. Kenneth is completing his final semester in the Master of Higher Education program graduating Fall 2017.
