Dr. Kaye Patten
Senior Vice President for Student Affairs

In her role as Senior Vice President for Student Affairs at The University of Toledo, Dr. Patten provides leadership for creating an environment and system of support that is conducive to students achieving their educational goals. The offices and departments that make up the Division of Student Affairs include: Office of the Dean of Students, Office of Residence Life, the University Counseling Center, Office of Multicultural Student Success, Office of Recreation, Office of Student Conduct, Office of Student Involvement & Leadership and Auxiliary Services- parking and dining services, Rocket Card and Rocket Wireless. As Senior Business Manager for the Division of Student Affairs, Kathy is responsible for fiscal and human resources management for all units within the division. She holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Toledo. In her spare time, you will find Kathy in either Savage Arena or the Glass Bowl (depending on season) rooting for the Rockets. Go Midnight Blue!
Dr. Stanley Edwards
University Counseling Center

As Director of the University Counseling center, Dr. Edwards is responsible for the leadership, supervision and management of the UT Counseling Center. He works collaboratively with other departments within the University while providing counseling, crisis intervention, consultation and outreach programs and prevention strategies for students.
Dr. Phillip "Flapp" Cockrell

Dr. Phillip "Flapp" Cockrell serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students, while also serving as head of the Office for the Student Experience, where he investigates student and family concerns, communicates with faculty/staff to resolve concerns, and initiates service recovery. His focus is on building a culture of student centeredness by being responsive to student’s needs, and utilizing feedback to facilitate improvement and student satisfaction. Dr. Flapp received his Bachelor's from Mississippi University for Women, his Master's from Florida International University, and his Doctorate from Jackson State University.
Office of Residence Life

As the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Director of Residence Life, Virginia provides leadership and oversight to the Division of Student Affairs with primary responsibility for the administration of the Office of Residence Life, the Office of Student Conduct, and the Office of Student Recreation. Virginia provides critical input to the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs, acting in a leadership role for policy development, strategic planning, assessment, administration and fiscal responsibility. Virginia brings to the table years of experience in residence life, organizational leadership and management.
Operations - Dining & Nutrition
As Senior Director of Operations — dining and clinical nutrition — Mario oversees all aspects of food service on both UT campuses. He’s also a longtime motivational speaker and leadership consultant.
