Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions

Route Pick up
There are a couple of trucks running on defined routes in the University. You could go by yourself on a small truck or accompany another teammate on the Big truck. The recyclable stuff is picked up from the designated spots/points/Loading Docks (LD). It may or may not have to be sorted depending upon the collection. In the end its dropped at the WestWood building for final sorting, baling and loading on the semi truck.

Outdoor Classroom Garden
The UT Outdoor Classroom Garden relies on volunteers. Volunteers help with planning garden bed design, planting seeds and tending to seedlings, transplanting starts to the garden, weeding and tending garden beds, harvesting flowers and food, and in preparing the garden beds for winter plantings including cover crops and garlic. Volunteers can spend as little as a half hour per week, or up to 3-4 hours per week depending on interest. Most of our volunteer activities take place during our workdays.
