Next Steps for Admission

 

Getting Started at The University of Toledo

Step 1 - Apply to UT!  Complete an undergraduate application online at www.utoledo.edu/admission/apply and select your degree program of interest. The $40 application fee is deferred until you enroll.  

Step 2 - Send Transcripts! If you are a transfer student, send in official copies of college transcripts from all institutions attended and your high school transcript. If you are a first time college student, send in official copies of your high school transcript or GED scores.

Step 3 - Apply for Financial Aid.  File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at fafsa.ed.gov. For assistance with filing your FAFSA online, visit Rocket Solution Central located on main campus in Rocket Hall or call 419.530.8700. for additional information and scholarships available, visit UT's Financial Aid page.

Step 4 - Register for Orientation.  Rocket Launch (new students) and Rocket Transition (transfer students) are required one-day programs designed to assist in making the transition to UT an are valuable to any incoming student. Transfer students have the option to attend in person or online. Students enrolled in online degree programs are exempt from this requirement. For further information and to register for Rocket Launch or Rocket Transition, contact the Office of New Student Orientation at 419-530-1267 or 1.877.752.0005.

Step 5 - Attend Rocket Launch or Rocket Transition. During your on-campus or online program, students will have the opportunity to learn more about the many educational opportunities that UT offers both inside and outside of the classroom including:

· Meet with an adviser, and register for your classes
· Talk to a financial aid representative
· Obtain your Rocket Card
· Learn about UT service, activities and events
· Talk with current students and ask questions
· Learn about on-campus and off-campus housing

NOTE: If you are an ONLINE ONLY student, you do not have to come to campus.  Your registration will be done by phone appointment.  Call the academic advising office for your particular degree program.  If you don’t know who to call, you can always contact the Office of Online Learning at 419.530.8835 to get the appropriate contact information.

At Rocket Launch or Rocket Transition, students will also complete their final steps to start classes at UT!

Step 6 - Attend Class and Earn Your Degree!

Parking
You may order a parking permit when you register for classes at Rocket Launch and it will be billed to you along with your balance of fees. You may apply for your parking permit through your MyUT Portal. For more information, visit the Parking Services website. 

The University of Toledo Student ID (Rocket Card)
After you have registered for classes, you will need to obtain a University of Toledo Student Identification Card (Rocket Card) in the ID Center in the Student Union Room 1550.  (Online only students exempt.)

Books
The University of Toledo Bookstore is located in the Barnes and Noble located in the Gateway Plaza on Secor Rd. Bring your class schedule with you when you purchase your books.  Orders can also be made online.

Student Disability Services
Students with documented disabilities that would require services should contact Student Disability Services  at 419.530.4981 for assistance. Please contact Student Disability Services as soon as possible so that they can be of assistance during the testing, advising and registration process.
