University College SCHOLARSHIPS

Legion Post 335 Transitional Book Scholarship Application

Awarded to first time VA benefit users who are Veteran's or actively serving in the military. $250 book scholarship.

Deadline
There is not an annual deadline, however, you must apply for the scholarship PRIOR to the semester to be eligible that semester.


Donor Scholarships

To apply for a donor scholarship you must complete the University College Scholarship Application.

Chris A. Henderson Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be an incoming or readmit undergraduate student at The University of Toledo, a resident of Ohio or Monroe County, MI who has earned college/university credit with a minimum 2.5 Higher Ed GPA, AND has not attended a college or university for a minimum of two years. Applicants must enroll for a minimum of six credit hours per semester. This scholarship is one-time, non-renewable. Undergraduate students with a bachelor’s degree are not eligible. 

*This scholarship allows applicants from any major/college at The University of Toledo to apply. 

Coalition to Support America's Heroes Scholarship

Scholarship awarded to students in good standing who show a commitment to diversity. First preference will be given to wounded veterans; if no wounded veterans are eligible then all active duty personnel will be considered.

Dean Dennis S. Lettman Complete Your Degree Scholarship

The applicant must be in his or her final two semesters before graduation at The University of Toledo and enrolled in a University College degree program. The applicant must have maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher.  

Dr. Patricia J. Metting Scholarship

The applicant shall be enrolled in a University College degree program as a full-time or part-time student at the junior or senior level. The recipient shall demonstrate academic excellence with a minimum 3.0 GPA, as well as evidence of leadership ability and a commitment to service on campus or in the community. Prior recipients must reapply to be considered for renewal of the award.

Edith Rathbun Scholarship

The applicant must be a female, 25 years or older, who is enrolled in a University College degree program as a part- or full-time student. Financial need must be verified. Prior recipients must reapply to be considered for renewal of the award.

Elaine and Amos Patterson Scholarship

The applicant must be a female, 25 years or older, who is enrolled in a University College degree program with a minimum GPA of 2.0. The student must demonstrate academic intent and potential for degree success. Preference will be given to the applicant with the greatest financial need. A student can only receive this scholarship twice, and prior recipients must reapply to be considered for renewal.

Frank J. Nagy Military Scholarship

The applicant must be receiving Chapter 1606, 1607 or 30 GI Bill benefits from the Department of Veteran's Affairs and enrolled at The University of Toledo on a part-time or full-time basis. The student must have earned a minimum of 30 semester hours toward their degree with a current GPA of at least 2.5. A 250-500 word essay highlighting the student's educational, career and life goals must be submitted with a completed application.

Price Family Scholarship

The applicant must be enrolled in a University College degree program, have earned 30 or more credit hours, attended full-time or part-time and is a single parent with one or more dependent children. Financial need must be verified.

Ralph C. and Joanne L. Cline Scholarship

The applicant must be 30 years or older who is enrolled in a University College degree program. Preference will be given to women who are starting a new career or a business. Prior recipients must reapply to be considered for renewal of the award.

William and Anna Jean Vaughan Scholarship

The applicant will be an incoming University College student or one who is currently enrolled in an approved program of study. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a determination to obtain a college degree. The award is not renewable.

Women’s Advertising Club of Toledo Scholarship

The applicant must be a female who is enrolled in a University College program, with a degree focus on outreach through advertising, public relations, marketing, broadcasting and/or interpersonal communication. Preference will be given to ascending juniors and seniors. The applicant must be a permanent resident of the Greater Toledo area.
