    Gateway Faculty and Staff

    Ruth L. Meinhart, Assistant Dean and Administrative Director

    As assistant dean/administrative director, Ruth is responsible for the day to day operations of the Gateway Programs. She and the Academic Committee oversee honors, probation and suspension decisions for the Gateway Programs. Ruth represents the UT Learning Collaborative on the Associate Deans Council.

    Nancy Bertram, Office Secretary

    Nancy’s responsibilities include answering phones and making advising appointments. She is in charge of all front office activities and supervises the Gatweway Programs student workers.

    Rose Marie Ackerman, Program Manager/Academic Adviser

    Rose oversees the UC 1000/ QUEST Orientation course. She also advises QUEST (undecided). transfer, transition (TRAN) and conditinal students in the Gatweway Programs. She teaches an Orientation course and Career and Self Evaluation course each year.

    Lisa Bollman, Academic Adviser

    Lisa advises undecided (QUEST), transfer, conditional and transition (TRAN) students; teaches a section of the fall orientation course (FYI); represents the Gatweway Programs as a liaison to the athletic department pertaining to issues of academic eligibility .

    Chutima Case, Assistant Director, University Relations and Research

    Chutima oversees the transfer credit evaluations  for the Gateway Programs.  She also conducts assessments and reports for progrms in the UT Learning Collaborative. 

    Kathy Helmick, Academic Adviser

    Kathy advises undecided (QUEST), transfer, conditional and transition (TRAN) students.  She has also taught a section of the fall orientation course (FYI).  She teaches an Orientation course and Career and Self Evaluation courses.

    Carol Holton, Transfer Adviser

    Carol advises students at Monroe County Community College and Owens Community College as they pursue an easy transfer to The University of Toledo.

    Kathy Jensen, Academic Adviser

    Kathy advises undecided (QUEST), transfer, conditional and transition (TRAN) students; teaches a section of the fall orientation course (FYI). She teaches an Orientation course and Career and Self Evaluation courses.

    Amy Kall, PSEOP Academic Adviser

    Amy serves as an adviser working with students in the High School Outreach Initiatives programs.  

    Terry Lentz, Assistant Director of High School Outreach Initiatives

    Terry works with a team in the High School-to-College Academic Initiative’s Office.  He also advises Post Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP), senior to sophmore and other high school outreach efforts.

    Cynthia Spitler, Academic Adviser

    Cynthia coordinates the pre-major (PMAJ) Academic Skills Enhancement advising.  She has taught the FYI Orientation, Career and Self-Evaluation, Social Gerontology, and Social Psychology courses.
