The University of Toledo Admission

The University of Toledo - An exceptional education at an outstanding value

A mid-size university that offers both diversity and depth, UToledo is also small enough to let your students shine. As Rockets, students find ample opportunities to connect with faculty mentors, develop as scholars and researchers and grow into campus leaders. And they’ll do it all in an affordable city with abundant opportunities for part-time, internship and co-op work — as well as plenty of fun besides.

Applying to The University of Toledo has never been easier!

We are proud to offer your students new options to simplify their application to UToledo:

  • Test-optional application – Students may choose to be evaluated for admission on their full high school academic performance. Learn more at our FAQs page.
  • Superscoring – For students who wish to submit standardized test scores, UToledo will create a composite ACT or SAT score from their best submissions.

The Toledo Tuition Guarantee provides price transparency and consistency for students and families, while also encouraging students to complete their bachelor’s degrees in four years.

Scholarships and Grants

UToledo offers a range of scholarships that reward high school academic performance, as well as need-based aid. Those applying as test-optional are eligible for merit scholarships.  Three UToledo scholarship opportunities of note are:

Presidential Scholarship

The Presidential Scholarship is UToledo’s most prestigious scholarship. It includes full tuition, room and board, and a $3,000 stipend for a summer educational experience. All applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8. Students who apply to UToledo with test scores must also have a minimum 30 ACT or 1360 SAT.

Levis Leadership

The Levis Leadership program provides a select group of students with focused leadership training and a $1,000 renewable scholarship. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and either a 20 ACT or 1030 SAT, plus demonstrated potential for leadership.

Multicultural Emerging Scholars Program (MESP)

The Multicultural Emerging Scholars Program (MESP) is a six-week early start to a student’s freshman year that continues via the MESP living learning community. During this time, MESP students live together on the UToledo campus and receive enhanced instruction in math, English and a social science course. Fully funded by UToledo, the program includes tuition, housing, meals and books, as well as enrollment in the MESP Living Learning Community in Academic House for the subsequent fall and spring. Preference is given to applicants from traditionally underserved populations.

Supporting Success

Now more than ever, students may need various kinds of additional encouragement — including academic, financial, social and emotional support — to sustain their commitment to completing their bachelor’s degree. UToledo offers students a robust array of resources to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
