Jesup Scott Honors College Admission

2020 Admission Requirements for the Jesup Scott Honors College

The Jesup Scott Honors College is looking for our next class of high-ability Rockets! Read below the next steps to a deeply engaging college experience fueling tomorrows of promise and purpose.

  • Applicants should possess both a 3.5 high school GPA and a 25 ACT/1200 SAT test score for standard admission to the Honors College.
  • Academic credentials are only part of the story, though. Our supplemental Honors application will invite you to share information about your high school leadership and/or work experience, any special awards you’ve earned or achievements you’ve enjoyed, as well efforts you’ve made to be an agent of change in your community.
  • Our application is short but does include an essay of 400-500 words on the following topic: Reflect on a time when you challenged a belief or idea. What prompted you to act? Would you make the same decision again?
  • You can initiate your application to the Honors College by indicating your interest in the JSHC on your application to UToledo. This will trigger an e-mail to you the following day including the link to our supplemental application.
  • Applicants to the Honors College with credentials that fall below the standard minimum criteria stipulated above may be subject to an alternative evaluation that seeks information about extenuating circumstances which might have shaped your high school GPA and test scores.
  • The priority deadline for application to the Honors College is March 15th.
