Professor Cáceres joined the Department of Political Science and Public Administration in 2011. She currently serves as department chair, undergraduate advisor and director of the Global Studies Program. She teaches courses in comparative and global politics.
Professor Cáceres is from Puerto Rico, where she received her B.A. in political science from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. She obtained her M.A. and Ph.D. in comparative politics and political methodology from the University of Florida. Her research focuses on social movements, political motivation and political interest development within the Latin American region. Her current project examines unconventional methods of political activism among Latin American women, particularly in the Andean region, and the influence of religion on political interest.
