Appointments and Fees

Appointments

To make an appointment, please call:  419-530-2721

Clients seeking services should first contact the UTPC to schedule a brief phone screening. This initial interview is used to collect information and ensure the client's presenting issues fit well with the training needs of our doctoral student clinicians. Each client deemed a good fit will be assigned to a doctoral student clinician and supervising psychologist. If the UTPC has a wait list, clients will be placed on the list and provided with regular updates.

FEES

The following rates are based on our standard maximum fees. Because we recognize that some clients' financial situation hinders their ability to pay our standard fees, we offer a sliding fee scale. However, no one will be turned away due to a temporary or more chronic inability to pay. Most of our non-UT clients (who are charged the highest rate) qualify for lower fees than the maximum fees quoted below (for non-UT clients, the maximum fees quoted below are based on a household yearly income of $60,000).

  • Initial psychotherapy session. For therapy clients, there is an initial 1½ hour intake meeting that includes an interview and brief intake assessment. Fees are due at the intake session.
    • UT students and their dependents: initial session = $15
    • Maximum fee for all other clients: $60 (sliding scale applies; call for estimate)
  • Psychotherapy sessions. The following fees are based on a 50 minute session. Fees are collected at each therapy session.
    • UT students and their dependents: $10
    • Maximum fee for all other clients: $60 (sliding scale applies: call for estimate)
  • Psychological Assessments. Our assessments include an interview, administering psychological tests, test scoring and interpretation, writing reports, consultation with relevant agencies (e.g., schools, Office of Accessibility and Disability Resources, other health professionals), and a client feedback session. The assessment fee is due at the beginning of the assessment. The purpose or reason for assessment should be clarified before the assessment begins. If the nature of the assessment may require further testing, depending on the findings it is possible that more testing would be recommended.
    • UT students and their dependents: $200 for an assessment.
    • All other clients: Based on a sliding fee scale, the highest fee rate is $660. However, many of our clients qualify for a lower rate. For more details regarding the types of assessments offered, please contact us.

Cancellations must be made 24 hours in advance (by calling the UTPC) or half the session fee will be charged.
