Academic Support Services
The University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation Office of Student Retention and Academic Success is open year round to assist undergraduate and graduate students in their pursuit of a business degree at the associates, bachelors and masters degree levels. Personnel include the advising staff, recruiters, and student assistants. The staff has received many awards for their professional accomplishments. Debbie Jones and Barb Robertson have been recognized by The University of Toledo for excellence in advising in receiving the UT Adviser of the Year Award. Barb Robertson and Darlene Stevens have also received the College of Business Outstanding Staff Award and the Students First Award from the Office of the President.
In the College of Business and Innovation, academic advising is a shared responsibility between the student and the adviser. The academic adviser will provide the student with accurate information about educational options, plans of study, policies and procedures, career advising, and referrals to specialized services when appropriate. The adviser will assist the student with continual monitoring and evaluation of the student's educational progress. The student will maintain frequent contact with their adviser, and will assume final responsibility for course scheduling, program planning, and the successful completion of graduation requirements.
