The Ohio Society if CPA’s  and the Ohio CPA Foundation sponsored  a High School Accounting Career Day on October 15 in the University of Toledo Student Union.

During the program students learn first-hand about opportunities in accounting and business from local CPAs, business professionals and accounting faculty and students in The University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation (COBI). COBI Dean Gary Insch welcomed the students.

“The COBI accounting faculty and staff are excited to participate in this tremendous learning opportunity for area high school students,” noted Dr. Hassan HassabElnaby, Chair of the Accounting Department in UT COBI. “Accountants work as financial consultants who help their clients or employers find creative solutions to business problems. They provide the necessary information and analysis companies need to become more effective and efficient. Helping area students discover the value of this outstanding profession is very appealing to us.”

Earlier this year the UT COBI Accounting Department in received - - in its first attempt - - a departmental accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a voluntary accreditation obtained by only 1.3% (182 institutions) of accounting programs in the 13,670 business schools around the world.
