LAWN - 9330 ADVANCED PROSECUTOR CLINIC
[3 hours] Criminal Law Practice Program LAWN9310 is a prerequisite for enrollment in this

LAWN - 9410 DISPUTE RESOLUTION CLINIC
[3-4 hours] In the Dispute Resolution Clinic, second and third year students have the unique
opportunity to learn mediation skills and apply those skills mediating �unruly� child cases in Lucas County Juvenile Court. This fieldwork
experience provides hands-on training in the area of alternative dispute resolution. Skills such as listening, communications and negotiation are
stressed in both the fieldwork and weekly classroom component. Students are taught theoretical techniques and are exposed to a variety of guest
speakers in the Alternative Dispute Resolution field. This clinical program is designed to teach practical skills and give the students an
opportunity to interact in the legal community in a new and emerging area of law.
LAWN - 9510 JUDICIAL INTERNSHIP
[2 hours] Judicial Internship is a program in which students are placed in federal and state
courts including the U.S. District Court, the U.S. Magistrate and Bankruptcy Courts, and the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals. An
intern is expected to work a maximum of 20 hours per week. Duties include the screening of cases and general research projects delegated by
the judge or his staff. An intern is expected to turn in to the program supervisor an interim report in the middle of the semester and a
final report at the end of the semester documenting the writing experiences gained from the internship and describing the activities, experiences
and cases which the intern worked on during the semester. A pass/fail grade is awarded by the supervisor after an evaluation of the judge�s
recommendation and the intern�s reports. [Fall/SP/SU - d]
LAWN - 9910 LAW LEGAL CLINIC
[3-7 hours] The clinic focuses on development of legal skills such as interviewing, counseling,
negotiation, drafting, trial and appellate work and the application of those skills to the problems of individuals. Typical practice includes
probate, domestic relations, administrative law, landlord and tenant, consumer and misdemeanor defense areas. Students in the clinic are
given responsibility for work on all aspects of the case, under the close supervision of clinic staff. Classroom meetings focus on
substantive, procedural and ethical aspects of the cases handled by the clinic. Admission is by the permission of the co-directors.
In considering admission of those students with 58 or more hours, preference will be given to those who are registered as law students with the
Ohio Supreme Court and certified as legal interns under Rule II of the Ohio Supreme Court Rules. It is recommended that students be
enrolled in or have completed Evidence. [Fall/SP - d]
LAWN - 9930 ADVANCED LAW LEGAL CLINIC
[3-4 hours] For those students who have completed the basic clinic, the advanced clinic
emphasizes development of skills beyond those achieved in the basic clinic in the context of complex litigation or other more involved
