RMGT - 1710   RETAIL MERCHANDISING
[3 hours]  A comprehensive study of traditional retailing subjects as well as those issues that are emerging as key determinates of retailing success:  global retailing, TQM, micro merchandising, relationship retailing, and superior customer service.

RMGT - 1730   MERCHANDISE BUYING
[3 hours]  Presents activities involved in the purchase of consumer goods from manufacturers and wholesalers for the purpose of reselling to consumer. Issues include fashion merchandising, buying brands and private labels, and merchandising controls.  Prerequisite: MARS 1010

RMGT - 2100   VISUAL MERCHANDISING
[3 hours]  In this course, students learn the basic techniques and objectives of visual display for merchandising and services retailing. Students learn to present merchandise for maximum appeal and easy and quick selection, create window displays, and develop appropriate merchandise/service signage.  Prerequisite: MARS 1010

RMGT - 2940   RETAIL MGMT FIELD EXPERIENCE
[3 hours]  Independent field experience is designed to provide a student the opportunity to observe marketing and/or sales and retail management activities first-hand in an appropriate employment setting. Students will meet with instructor at prearranged times to discuss progress and learning outcomes.  Prerequisite: MARS 1010, permission of instructor
