Night Watch (Escort Service)

The purpose of the Night Watch (Escort Service) is to provide for the safety of anyone walking alone on campus during the evening hours.

Two-person teams, equipped with two-way radios allowing them to be in constant contact with the Police dispatcher, will provide assistance to people requesting an escort from the Main Campus and Scott Park Campus and adjacent apartment complexes to campus.

To request an escort, simply call 419-530-3024 (extension 3024 on campus) or stop at the walk up station inside the Carlson Library.  A team of Night Watch members will be dispatched to your location and assist in getting you to your desired location.  Depending on the distance of the escort, you may be accompanied on foot, transported in a vehicle or transported by golf cart if available.

Plan ahead and be patient as this service is very popular and in high demand on the campuses.  If you no longer need the service after requesting assistance, please call back and cancel your initial request.

The Night Watch service is available during the fall and spring semesters and operates on the schedule listed below:

Sunday through Thursday: 6:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Friday and Saturday: 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.

All members of the Night Watch staff are background checked by The University of Toledo Police Department before being offered employment. If you would like to apply for a staff position, click on the following link: Rocket Jobs
