Dr. Tony Sanchez is Professor of Social Studies Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and teaches methods for both Middle Grades and AYA majors.  Before becoming a professor, he taught social studies  in both middle school and high school in the Midwest.  He has extensive publication of articles in state/national/international journals, including The Social Studies and Social Education, and a book focusing on values education through historical storytellingHis research interests began with multicultural/multiethnic studies focusing on Native Americans and gradually evolved to his current interest in character education and storytelling.  He has regularly presented his research at state/national social studies conferences and the CEP character education conferences.
