With our new Teacher Appreciation Scholarship, there is no better time to start than now.  Here in the Judith Herb College of Education, we recognize your hard work and will continue to support everyday educators who generate the leaders of tomorrow.

The Teacher Appreciation Scholarship was created by educators for educators. To be eligible for the scholarship applicants must be licensed and employed as a full-time teacher in a public school system in the state of Ohio or Southeastern Michigan (Monroe County).  Applicants also must pursue a Master's degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction.

TRUE VALUE.

This scholarship awards new master's students with a scholarship of $750 per term.

Applicants must pursue a Master's degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction.

Educational Administration

This program is designed for current teachers who are interested in entering school administration and earning a license as a building administrator. Students in this program develop as instructional leaders who can use data for school improvement to enhance student learning and develop the knowledge, skills, and ethics for school leadership. Teachers who complete this degree and meet all state requirements are eligible to take the required state examination and become licensed as a building administrator in Ohio. This is a 30-semester hour program and coursework can be completed on campus or through a combination of on campus and online courses. Students completing 6 credits per term fall and spring will be able to complete the program in two and one-half years.

Curriculum and Instruction

This program is designed for current teachers who are interested in advancing their careers in teaching. Students in this program develop greater expertise in developing curriculum, designing instruction, assessing, and understanding the needs of learners. Teachers who complete this degree will be eligible for a master’s degree level pay increase as well as teacher leadership roles such as serving as mentor teachers for pre-service students. This is a 30-semester hour program and coursework can be completed on campus or through a combination of on campus and online courses. Students completing 6 credits per term fall and spring will be able to complete the program in two and one-half years.
