Launch or Accelerate a Career in Higher Education Compliance

Higher education institutions now deal with a wide variety of compliance issues, including athletics (NCAA), safety (Clery Act), civil rights (Title IX), student privacy (FERPA), educational access (ADA), and federal financial aid. Additionally, these institutions are also subject to the standards of multiple regional and national accrediting bodies. In addition to a well-rounded basis in compliance generally, the online Certificate in Higher Education Compliance features a course on higher education law that will provide an in-depth look at the legal issues facing higher education today.

This program has been submitted to the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)® for approval as a CCB-accredited ethics and compliance program.

Students should plan to take between 7-9 credits per semester to complete this Certificate in 10-12 months. However, students may complete coursework over a longer period of time.

For those students wishing to expand their knowledge of the law related to compliance, additional in-person courses may be taken above and beyond the credits required for the Certificate. Students able to attend in-person classes may also apply up to nine credits earned in the Certificate towards the College of Law’s Master of Studies in Law.
