Biographical Sketch

William Barlow served as an infantryman during World War II and was primarily stationed in the Philippines and South Pacific from 1944-46.  His brother Leo served in the United States Marine Corps from 1950-53 and was stationed in Korea and Japan in 1951.         

Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of letters written by William Barlow and his brother Leo to their family during their time in the service. Both sets of letters are divided by year (and, in the case of the William Barlow letters, by month), with the brothers� location at the time also noted. Letters with unknown years, dates, and/or locations are contained in separate folders. The Leo Barlow collection also contains some miscellaneous materials.
