The College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics (NSM) Advising Office supports NSM undergraduate students throughout their academic careers, helping you obtain as many benefits as possible from your education. Academic advisors are vital links to successful degree completion, providing you with services and resources to help you accomplish your goals.
Our advisors are available to help you with:
- Understanding your degree requirements
- Assessing your progress toward degree completion
- Reviewing your courses and prerequisites
- Monitoring your academic performance
- Discussing future plans
- One-on-one academic monitoring for academic issues or probation
Academic Advising Appointments
The NSM Advising Office is open Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Appointments are required. Email inquiries can be sent to NSMadvising@utoledo.edu; we will reply within 1-2 business days. You can also reach us directly at 419.530.7845.
Schedule your virtual academic advising appointment online using your Starfish profile or email NSMAdvising@utoledo.edu from your Rockets email to request an appointment. Please include your name, Rocket number and reason for the appointment; we will send you a schedule link to set up a virtual advising appointment that aligns with your advisor’s calendar.
Due to the recent rise in COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses, virtual advising appointments are preferred to help protect the health and safety of students and staff. In-person appointments are available on request. If you have an in-person appointment but need to change to phone or virtual due to illness, please contact our office and we would be happy to change your appointment type.

Declare or Drop a Minor
Email NSMAdvising@utoledo.edu from your Rockets email to request to add or drop a minor within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The email must include your full name, Rocket number and the request to add/drop a specific minor. You will receive an email confirmation when the request is received.
