The Clery Act requires that all colleges and universities receiving Title IV financial aid must:
- Maintain and update a public crime log
- Publish an annual security and fire safety report that includes campus crime statistics, security policies, and information regarding fires in residential facilities among other topics
- Provide timely warnings to students and campus employees about crimes posing an immediate or ongoing threat to the campus community
- Devise and test emergency notification and evacuation procedures
- Ensure basic rights to survivors of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, and stalking
