Are you ready to make a greater impact in the lives of young children with disabilities? The University of Toledo’s Preschool Special Needs Endorsement (PSNE) program is designed around the competencies identified by the Ohio Board of Regents/Department of Education. The online PSNE provides teachers with the foundational courses and field experiences necessary to work effectively and successfully with preschool-aged children with disabilities in a variety of settings.

The University of Toledo is a 4 year, public, regionally accredited university that has been serving students since 1872. As a student, you will enjoy: direct contact with your Success Coach and advisors, and interactive faculty to help you achieve your goals. UToledo also has many resources that a large institution offers such as; eTutoring, IT Help Desk, and eLibrary.

Students seeking an endorsement in Preschool Special Needs must hold a current Ohio teaching license in K-12 Intervention Specialist (mild/moderate or moderate/intensive) or Early Childhood Education (PK-3). By adding this endorsement, individuals can teach in a school district-sponsored preschool special needs classroom or serve as itinerant preschool teachers serving young children with disabilities.

The University of Toledo is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission to award associate's, bachelor's, master's, specialist and doctoral degrees; the PSNE program is approved by the Ohio Department of Education.

Students who pursue this endorsement hold a current Ohio teaching license as an Intervention Specialist or in Early Childhood Education. The Ohio PSNE endorsement broadens their career opportunities by allowing them to teach a preschool special needs classroom.
