Toledo Academic Advising Association

2019-2020 Executive Board Introductions

Chair- Stacy Jenkins

Thank you for nominating me as your next TACADA Executive Board Chair. In my current role, as the Graduate Programs Advisor, I serve the graduate students of the College of Business and Innovation with their advising needs. It is my mission to ethically, purposefully, and competently engage with others, doing my best to positively impact lives.

I have served the majority of my professional career in higher education, having had the opportunity to work with diverse student populations at all levels of educational enrollment endeavors. I have also served as 2014-2015 President for the Ohio Academic Advising Association, the 2019-2020 Chair of the Professional Development Committee, and was recently elected to the 2019-2022 Professional Staff Council.

As your Chair it is my goal to empower our campus members to successfully interact to meet the primary goals of TACADA. I will do my best to uphold our mission of delivering advising and student service related information, building a network of resources to enhance student success, and increasing retention at The University of Toledo while representing and promoting the quality of academic advising within the larger university community.

Co-Chair- Jacqueline Kosier

My name is Jackie Kosier and I am the Academic Advisor for the College of Natural Science & Mathematics. While this will be my 4th year in this role, I have over 13 years of experience in Higher Education that includes both Residence Life and Advising. I am extremely excited about serving as your Co-Chair this year and being able to work with this amazing group of professionals that is TACADA. I hope that in this role I am able to work with our Board to provide a supportive and professional outlet for our Advising Community and to help continue building our resources and knowledge for our profession here on campus.

Interim Secretary- jillian lehman

Thank you for the opportunity to step into the Interim Secretary role. I am excited to be more involved with TACADA and on campus through this position. I came to Toledo May 2016 as an Academic Advisor in the College of Natural Science and Mathematics. However, January 2017 I took a new position as an Athletic Coordinator in Student-Athlete Academic Services. I am a Toledo native with a strong background and tie to the University of Toledo. After spending 12 years in Pennsylvania, it is with pride that I live and work here. Not only do I try to make an impact on our university, but with the city of Toledo community as well.

Treasurer- Gina Luck-Deitsch

I have been a Success Coach at UToledo for a little over a year and have been looking for ways to get involved and contribute! I am excited to join TACADA’s Executive Board and collaborate with my fellow staff members.

NACADA Liaison- Deb Sobczak

I am looking forward to continuing to serve as the NACADA liaison to TACADA...and I am also currently the Treasurer for OHAAA. I truly believe in the missions of all three organizations since they provide very worthwhile professional development and networking opportunities.
Since 1995, I have worked in the College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at The University of Toledo. I currently hold the position of Director of Student Services and advise all pre-pharmacy students. In addition to involvement on countless college and university committees over the years, I remain as Chair of the PSA Sick Leave Bank.
My points of pride include serving as the Inaugural Chair for Toledo Academic Advising Association (TACADA) and receiving the UToledo’s Outstanding Advisor, Shining Star, and OHAAA’s Advising Excellence awards.
I am very excited to continue on the TACADA e-board. Thank you for the opportunity!
