Update on the Federal Government Shutdown 1/28/2019

As you may know, the Federal Government is back online, for at least the next three weeks. Below is the new information as we have it this morning. We will continue to update the website, as necessary, and please remember that RSP staff is here to help with any specific questions you may have.

NSF has extended some upcoming deadlines. See below for more information.

Impact on Existing Due Dates
Proposers are advised that NSF will be extending the deadline date for the solicitations or Dear Colleague Letters (DCLs) listed in the table below. Please note that the new deadline dates have not yet been identified. Within five business days of NSF resuming operations, the below list will be updated to include revised deadlines, and the deadline dates identified on the actual solicitations or DCLs on the NSF website will be modified. Additional solicitations or DCLs may be added to the below list, so proposers are strongly encouraged to check the webpage regularly.https://www.nsf.gov/shutdown/grantees.jsp

EPA: Once the lapse in appropriations is over, EPA intends to work with its grantee community to address the submission issues which may include extending the submission deadlines for proposals under the affected programs.

FDA: No update

NASA: NASA GRC customers will be back at work on Monday, January 28th. However, please note that we do not yet have the funding authority required for us to go back to work on certain tasks, which make up the large majority of work on the ARTS contract. These tasks ran out of funding during the shutdown. On Monday morning, we will immediately begin working with GRC Procurement to get us the funding authority that is needed for you to return to work. Our hope is that by using an expedited process, this authority to return to work will be issued as soon as possible. Do not report to work until you are informed via email that it is permissible for you to begin working again on your task(s).

NOAA: No update

USGS: No update

NIFA: Website appears as before.

DOJ: You will have continued access to your grant funds through the Grants Payment Request System (GPRS). Grantee payment requests received through the GPRS will be processed and submitted to Treasury for payment on a daily basis.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and will provide updates as necessary. Please contact Anne Izzi, Director of Sponsored Programs at  anne.izzi@utoledo.edu or 419-530-6226 with any questions you may have at any time.
