The University of Toledo launched a new strategic planning process in November 2021 to shape the institution’s trajectory over the next several years.

A Strategic Planning Committee, made up of nominated individuals representing 17 different constituencies, has been charged with soliciting input from the campus community to create a focused set of achievable and actionable goals, supported by real identified resources, and linked to measurable outcomes that lead to subsequent action.

The committee is seeking input through a variety of methods throughout the process. A survey emailed to campus on Nov. 30 collected more than 3,600 survey responses from students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. A series of town hall discussion sessions in January and February gathered input on the University’s mission, vision and values.

The existing strategic plan has guided University from 2017 to 2022.

Draft Mission, Vision and Values Statements

After hundreds of students, faculty, staff and community stakeholders attended a series of town halls to reimagine The University of Toledo’s mission, vision and values, the Strategic Plan Committee used that insight to draft new statements.

The committee encourages the University community and the public to review and provide feedback on the draft mission, vision and values statements by April 30.
