What is the TOEFL Test?

ITP-TOEFL at the University of Toledo stands for ‘Institutional Testing Program - Test of English as Foreign Language’ specific to the University of Toledo and administered at its campus.  ITP-TOEFL is a Paper Based Test.  The scores from ITP TOEFL Do Not transfer to another institution.

IBT-TOEFL stands for the ‘Internet Based Test - Test of English as a Foreign Language’ offered by the Educational Testing Services (ETS).  The University of Toledo offers TOEFL at the Scott Park Campus Test Center.

You can take IBT-TOEFL test at your choice of conveniently located, ETS-approved test sites around the world. It is the most widely accepted English-language test in the world, including more than 9,000 colleges, universities, agencies and other institutions in 130 countries. And that list includes the University of Toledo along with the top 100 universities in the world.

Why TOEFL?

The TOEFL tests measure the ability of non-native English speakers to use and understand English as it is read, written, heard and spoken in the university classroom.

Measures Academic Skills

The ITP-TOEFL test helps prove you have the English skills you will actually use in the University of Toledo’s academic classroom. In the test, you may read a passage from a textbook and listen to a conversation and then write in response, just like you would in a classroom. Because the test is composed of 100% academic questions and tasks, the University of Toledo considers it the most appropriate test to use when making admissions decisions.

Scores Help You Stand Out

ITP-TOEFL test scores help you stand out because of the test's fairness and 100% academic content. By your ITP-TOEFL scores, you will be proving that you are ready for academic success at the University of Toledo.
