I was nervous when I came to Toledo. But now I feel completely at home. A summer program for multicultural students helped me make new friends. And there’s so much to do, so many organizations and diversity, it’s easy to meet people and connect.I joined a co-ed Latino fraternity and became president of the South American and Hispanic Students’ Association. My classes were small, so it was easier to interact with my peers and develop relationships with professors."Jannet Frias

When I first came to UToledo, I had my heart set on athletic training, but thanks to the support and mentorship of Professor Holly Eichner, I discovered that my true passion is in recreation therapy. I love being able to help individuals with illnesses and disabling conditions live healthier, more satisfying lives."Marie Jackson

"At UToledo, I’m pursuing my passions, building invaluable skills and making an impact
on my community. I want to solve real-world problems and make life better for people.
So does UToledo. I joined a UToledo initiative to make solar energy more accessible
to families in downtown Toledo. I made friends and valuable connections through student
organizations. I even found my business partner. We founded an online farmers' market
that delivers local produce to students."
At UToledo, we believe in learning by doing. We take you beyond the textbooks and the four walls of a classroom. State-of-the-art laboratories, local parks and lakes, historical collections and a world-renowned art museum become your intellectual playgrounds.
Whether you live on campus or commute, you’ll discover plenty of ways to get involved in our community. UToledo offers special services and lounges for our commuter students and nine residence halls for students who live on campus. Check out our specialized living learning communities, too. They’re a great way to meet students who share your major or interests.
College is about more than academics. You’ll grow just as much — if not more — in the time you spend outside of the classroom. UToledo has plenty of ways to get involved. Embrace them all.
Enjoy Rocket traditions — from MAC athletic events to the Homecoming parade through the historic Old Orchard neighborhood. From Songfest and RockeTHON to painting the rock. T-O-L-E-D-O!
UToledo has more than 400 student organizations. We have groups for business majors and dog lovers. For fans of baseball and bass fishing. Join one – or two or three. Start your own.
Our students volunteer more than 40,000 hours annually and have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities. During the annual student-run BIG event, 1,000+ students spread out in neighborhoods surrounding UToledo to wash windows, rake leaves and say “thank you” to our community.
Get the best of both worlds in Toledo — a safe, walkable campus in a beautiful, residential neighborhood and an affordable city with lots to do nearby. Like to bike or wander in the woods? We’ve got a trail that starts on campus and leads to a popular metropark. Are you a sports fan? Toledo has minor league hockey and baseball teams. Ready to listen to music and grab some dinner? Restaurants and music venues are mere minutes away.
UToledo is not too big and not too small. There’s so much going on on campus. I like to participate in everything. I’ve gone to a trampoline park in Toledo and ice skated at Ottawa Park near UToledo. I love the bike trail and the Metroparks, the Rec Center on campus. I’m a roller-coaster fanatic and I didn’t know Cedar Point was here. I’ve been there three times.”Rohan Rahatgaonkar

Toledo is a great place to launch your college experience — or a career. We are located in northwest Ohio, near the Michigan border, and at the intersection of I-75 and I-80/90. Toledo is just an hour away from the Detroit airport and within hours of most of the Midwest’s major cities. That’s important when it comes to job shadows, internships, co-ops and job hunting — or when you just need to get away for a weekend.
We get it. You want the best value for your hard-earned dollar and you want to graduate with minimal debt. UToledo is a proven value. And here’s why.
