DIET FOR CORPULENT PEOPLE

Fat persons should eat in moderate quantity any of the following articles of food:

1.The lean of meat.

2.Poultry, game.

3.Fish, fresh or salted, eggs, toast, greens, cabbage, water- cresses, spinach.

And avoid eating;

1.Fat meats.

2.Bread, biscuits, rice, arrow-root, sago, macaroni, vermicelli, puddings and pastry of all kinds, custards, cheese, butter, cream.

3.Sugar in any form.

4.Potatoes, parsnips, turnips, carrots.

5.Fruits of all kinds, fresh or preserved.

They may drink:

1.Tea and coffee without sugar or cream.

2.Acid wines, claret, dry sherry, seltzer, tamarind, or soda water.

3.Unsweetened spirits in great moderation

And avoid drinking:

1.Stout, porter and ale of all kinds.

2.Milk, sweet and port-wines, liqueurs, cocoa, and chocolate.
