Yerra Sugarman (MFA Columbia, PhD Houston) is the author of three books of poems:
Forms of Gone, which was awarded PEN American Center’s Joyce Osterweil Poetry Award; The Bag of Broken Glass, work from which received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship; and Aunt Bird, which is forthcoming from Four Way Books. Her chapbook From Her Lips Like Steam will be published by Aureole Press at the University of Toledo. She has received a
“Discovery”/The Nation Poetry Prize, a Chicago Literary Award, and two awards from the Poetry Society of
America, among other honors. Her poems, translations, and critical writing have appeared
in such journals as The Nation, AGNI, Literary Imagination, Prairie Schooner, The Mississippi Review, The Oxford Encyclopedia of American Literature, and in other publications.
