A Workshop for Classical and Jazz Pianists

Take your skills to the next level! Learn from the best - Steinway Artist and UT piano professor, Dr. Michael Boyd, and UT jazz professor and concert artist, Tad Weed, co-present this workshop. Their goal is to help pianists incorporate classical and jazz piano skills into their playing. With an increasingly competitive job market it is important for musicians to be as versatile as possible.

The classical aspect will focus on how to use technique to achieve musical ends, sound production, sight reading, collaborative skills, and stylistic elements. The jazz aspect will cover accompanying, arranging, solo piano techniques for jazz, blues and show tunes, and more.UT professor of jazz, Tad Wed

Dr. Michael Boyd, UT professor of pianoThis workshop will keep a duo focus on both Classical and Jazz disciplines for the pianist and demonstrate how to combine these disciplines. The Piano Fusion Workshop is intended for high school age and adult pianists who have some proficiency in either jazz or classical piano. It is NOT for beginners.

The workshop runs daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lunch is on your own. The cost is $350 (the $50 non-refundable registration fee is included in the total amount).
