Justin Bays

Justin Bays, adjunct professor of voice at The University of ToledoJustin Scott Bays, adjunct professor of voice with the University of Toledo, is a native of Ohio and with recent roles including: Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream with The University of Toledo, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte with Toledo Opera on Wheels, Fiorello in Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Toledo Opera, Marullo in Rigoletto with West Bay Opera, Masetto in Don Giovanni with The San Francisco Conservatory of Music (SFCM)Sid in Albert Herring, Bill Sauer in Money Tree at SFCM, Boy 2 in Trouble in Tahiti at SFCM, Masetto in Don Giovanni with Waffle Opera, The Merry Widow as Pritschitsch and The Pearl Fishers as chorus with Pocket Opera, Elviro in Serse at SFCM, and Schaunard in La Boheme at SFCM.

Mr. Bays has extensive training in musical theater with roles including: Emcee in Cabaret, Malcolm in The Full Monty, Hucklebee in The Fantasticks, Gordon in A New Brain at SFCM, Guido in Nine at SFCM. Other Musical Theater roles include Sander in Grand Hotel, Singer/Dancer in The World Goes Round, The Wizard of Oz as an Ozian/Jitterbug/Crow, and 42nd Street as Chorus. Justin has also performed in dance shows; Folklorico, 15 Years of Dance, and Rhythm in Shoes at Ohio Northern University.

Mr. Bays has also gone on national tours, as well as an international tour to New Zealand as a featured soloist. He has performed in China with the iSING International Young Artist Program where he performed with the Shanghai Symphony and the Shanghai Philharmonic. Justin received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music from Ohio Northern University where he studied under the instruction of Micah Graber. Also, Mr. Bays received a Master of Music and Post Graduate Diploma from SFCM under the instruction of Catherine Cook.
