Academic Advising
New students and undeclared students are advised in the College Student Services Office by college staff advisers who provide essential information and help students to select courses to fulfill core and distributive requirements and to evaluate academic progress and adjustment to university life.
Departmental major advisers are faculty who provide specific information about major and minor programs, departmental course offerings, career opportunities and graduate schools and help students select courses for major, related and other requirements for graduation.
Advising can be much more than selecting courses. The more frequently students arrange to meet with their adviser, the better their needs can be served.
