Hospital Emergency Codes
- Code RED -- Fire
- Code GRAY -- Tornado or severe weather
- Code BLACK -- Bomb or bomb threat
- Code ORANGE -- Hazardous chemical, biological, or radioactive incident
- Code BLUE -- Medical Emergency
- Code WHITE -- Snow or weather emergency
- Code YELLOW -- Disaster, either internal or external
- Code GREEN -- Building evacuation

What to do in the event of a BOMB THREAT
NOTE: Refer to the Code Black, Bomb Threats, policy # EP-08-004, for protocols unique to the patient care setting and the Bomb Threat Checklist.
If you receive a threatening call:
Keep the caller on the line as long as possible. Ask the following questions:
- What does the bomb look like?
- When is it going to go off?
- Does it react with water?
- Why are you doing this?
Assoon as the caller hangs up, call UT Police at x-2600.
Notify your supervisor.
Meet with and assist University Police personnel.
Evacuate building, as directed.
Donot re-enter building until the "all clear" has been given by UT Police or Safety and Health personnel.
