May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Impact Solutions’ confidential counseling services and resources are available to provide guidance, support and encouragement whenever it’s needed. The Employee Assistance Program has a new 4 Tips for Self-Care & Stress Relief Guide that provides simple ways to help manage stress and clear the mind.

Additionally, the National Institute of Mental Health offers tips on how to help prepare and guide you on talking to a health care provider about your mental health and getting the most out of your visit.

Retirement/Benefit Specialists at Health Science Campus

Retirement and Benefit Specialists will be onsite in the hospital café on Wednesday May 8th and Thursday May 9th between 11am and 2p to answer questions related to UToledo retirement or health benefit plans. If you are unable to stop by, you can contact the team with questions at

2024 Summer Employee Fitness Offerings

University Wellness and Rec Services are partnering to offer several fitness programs this summer. These special offerings are open to employees at no cost. Space is limited, please use the registration link for more details, including location and dates/times. Programs include
Zumba, Beginner Strength Training, and Running for Rookies.


Qualifying Event Benefit Enrollment

Outside of electing benefits as a new hire or newly eligible employee and during open enrollment, employees can make changes to their benefit elections if they experience a qualifying life event. Examples of a qualifying event include the birth of a child, getting married,
getting divorced, or losing other coverage. If you experience a qualifying event, you have 30 days from the event date to update your benefit elections. Proof of the event will be required to process your request. Visit your myUT portal and select ‘Benefit Enrollment- Qualifying
Events’ to get started.


Virtual Urgent Care provided by UTP

8am-10pm daily
University of Toledo Physicians (UTP) offer access to immediate care from ER-trained providers for acute, non-life-threatening conditions such as headaches, infections, rash, sprains/strains, and anxiety/depression. Visit the On Demand Virtual Urgent Care page for more info on
eligibility or to access care. For all UToledo medical plan members, this is a Tier-1 service with a $15 cost per visit.


Voluntary Summer Reduced Hours Program

The University of Toledo will once again offer employees the opportunity to voluntarily reduce their work hours during the 2024 summer months. The program, which is available to nonhospital and non-patient care employees, enables employees to revitalize and to spend extra time with their family and friends, while also helping the University to reduce labor costs in departments where workloads are reduced in the summer.

Employees interested in participating in the program for unpaid time off during the May through August time period will need approval from their department leadership, based on business needs.
