1. What does Service Award mean?
We would like to recognize those who have dedicated their years of service to the
University of Toledo by honoring you with a gift. The University is honoring employees
who have worked at UToledo for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 years.

2. Am I eligible to receive an award?
If you have been employed at the University for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45,
or 50 years. This event will honor employees who have celebrated their anniversary
date for the previous calendar year. Check the HR website for the full listing of eligible recipients for this year.

3. When is the service date cut off?
December 31

4. When and where is this event?
The Service Award celebration takes place at the end of the academic year, and the
next event will take place Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 3pm.

6. If I missed the Service Awards, can I still receive my gift?
Yes, please email ServiceAwards@utoledo.edu arrange a time to pick up your award.

You can receive your pin but not the gift.

8. If I haven’t received an award in the past, do I still get to claim it?
Unfortunately no, we are not giving out awards for anything prior to 2013.

2. Can more than one person nominate an individual?
Yes

3. Who may be nominated for Outstanding Staff?
Eligible nominees must be full-time or part-time (20 hours or more) regular employees
(contingent, temporary and intermittent employees are not eligible) and have at least
two years of service at the University. Senior administrators and previous award recipients
are ineligible if they have received the Outstanding Staff Award within the past three
years.

4. Who can make nominations?
Nominations will be accepted from faculty, physicians, staff, students, patients and
community members.

5. What are the qualifications necessary for award consideration?
The selection committee will consider: career accomplishments and outstanding contributions
on the job, commitment to improvement and innovation, and leadership and loyalty to

Nominations for the 2019 Outstanding Staff Award are due by March 22, 2019 by 5pm.

The selection committee for the awards consists of previous winners and a representative
from the Human Resources Department.

A total of five employees will be selected to receive awards and $1,000.
