THESIS OR PROJECT?

Students must have a capstone experience. You may choose between a thesis and a project. In most cases, a thesis is more theoretically-based and formal than a project. For a project, a student needs a chair and an additional reader. For a thesis, a student needs a chair and two additional readers. Faculty who serve as chairs and readers must have "graduate faculty status." Examples of projects and theses are provided on the Main Page of the Educational Psychology Program (at bottom of main page).

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS (no GRE Required)

Students applying for Master's program come from a range of academic and professional backgrounds:

  • Bachelor's degree with a GPA of 2.7 or higher on a 4-point scale;
  • Statement of Purpose regarding reason(s) for applying to the program;
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation attesting to the applicant's ability to complete advanced degree work;
  • Curriculum Vitae/resume, transcripts, and writing samples; and
