Position Information:


Job Title: Title I Reading Teacher

Licensure Needed: K-5 Reading and Ohio HQT requirement

Job Description: The Title 1 teacher promotes and develops successful reading instruction for students (grades K-5) and performs related duties in accordance with school policies and terms of the teacher contract. The Title 1 teacher is responsible for group and individual instruction of reading for students who meet state and federal guidelines. The Title I teacher creates targeted instruction and measures student progress. The Title I teacher is also responsible for partnering with parents through collaboration and communication.

Essential Functions:

  • Implement a variety of assessment instruments to determine eligibility and instructional needs of students in reading. Collect and monitor student data and provide pre-and post-assessment data to school administrators.
  • Utilize a variety of situationally appropriate instructional techniques and researched best practices in order to meet student needs.
  • Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective student learning.
  • Effectively communicate progress to students, parents, and school leadership.

Physical demands:

  • Occasional exposure to students who are unruly or disruptive
  • Must operate computer technology (hardware and software), basic office equipment such as copiers, and phone/communications equipment.

May occasionally be required to lift up to 50 lbs. (as in moving files or books). Position Type: Full-time

Job Title: Intervention Specialist
Licensure Needed: Intervention Specialist

Job Description: Establish and maintain a safe classroom environment conducive to learning. Use judgment and discretion to implement classroom instruction utilizing appropriate methods, materials, and equipment and adjust learning activities as needed. Develop and implement general classroom management procedures and specific behavior interventions and therapeutic supports. Coordinate programs with various specialists. Complete specialized medical procedures as needed. Develop with parents/guardians and other team members Individualized Education Programs. Design programming based on concepts adapted from the general education curriculum. Write lesson plans which include activities designed to address IEP goals, incorporate specialized curricular needs, and improve student skills in communication, academics, functional living, vocational abilities, self-care, leisure pursuits, and community access. Evaluate/assess and document student performance and write IEP progress reports, ETR reports and other special reports. Complete Alternate Assessments for designated students. Supervise, direct, train and evaluate intervention assistants. Bachelor's Degree in Education or Special Education. State of Ohio Department of Education Intervention Specialist License or equivalent or ability to obtain a temporary. Knowledge or experience with Behavioral Support Strategies or Child Development or current trend of education for children with disabilities. Must pass background check and physical ability test.
