Online Virtual Educator Graduate Certificate

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Technology is changing how we live, work—and learn. Be part of the revolution. The Judith Herb College of Education virtual educator online certificate program is designed to train educators, media specialists, and other professionals how to teach in a virtual classroom. In order to better understand the needs and roles that exist in an online learning environment, students will be immersed in the learning process both as an online learner and an online teacher.

PROGRAM DETAILS

Students in the virtual educator online program at The University of Toledo acquire the pedagogical skills and knowledge necessary to teach effectively in a virtual classroom. Students will explore the fundamentals of educational technology, lesson design, teaching strategies, and educational media tools that can enhance learning for diverse online audiences. 

CAREER OUTLOOK

This certificate allows teachers to hone their skills and apply their practice to broader online audiences. It also helps qualify educators for virtual teaching positions in a range of educational settings.

CURRICULUM 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for admittance, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.7.

Candidates must also supply two letters of recommendation, which may come from undergraduate major adviser, current employer, school principal, or others who have first-hand knowledge about the applicant’s ability to successfully complete graduate-level work in the program.

Current UT students in good standing may apply to the Graduate Certificate Program by submitting a Request to Add a Graduate Certificate Form  and a completed Plan of Study Form. For these students, the accompanying application fee is waived.
