Join the Division of Student Affairs and University leaders in the Student Union, Ingman Room! Here is where you can pick-up your Rocket Family Weekend bundle for the fun-filled weekend, receive football game tickets, snag your official Rocket Family Weekend 2023 T-Shirt, and ask any questions you may have before we kick-off the weekend. We look forward to meeting you and your families!

If you forgot to register in advance don't worry we can still assist you so you and your family can have an enjoyable weekend celebrating the Rocket experience! 

Slices of Toledo

Time: 6 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Student Union

Find your favorite slice on this trolley ride through Toledo. Enjoy some great food both around campus, but also downtown. The trolley will run every 30 minutes between campus and Downtown Toledo. Final trolley from downtown will depart at 10:30 p.m. 

Tickets are required for this event (including for your UToledo student). This event is not included in the Rocket Family Weekend bundle.

Colin Jost

Time: 7:30 p.m.
Savage Arena

Enjoy an evening in Savage Arena with your family full of laughs. Colin Jost serves as a head writer at Saturday Night Life, television's longest running and most successful sketch and comedy show, now in its 48th season. Jost originally joined the show as a writer in 2005 and became a co-host writer in 2012. Jost has also co-anchored "Weekend Update" alongside fellow cast member Michael Che since 2014. 

In July 2020, Jost debuted his memoir, A Very Punchable Face. The memoir is a series of essays, which documents pivotal moments in Jost's life including growing up in Staten Island in a family of firefighters, commuting three hours to high school, attending Harvard while Facebook was created, and more. For every accomplishment and absurd moment, there is an honest, emotional one, told with a healthy dose of self-deprecation.

Big Gay Welcome!

Time: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. 
Centennial Mall (Rain Location: Student Union, Ingman Room)

Big Gay Welcome is an opportunity for the LGBTQA+ Rocket community to celebrate pride and visibility. Come to learn about what's happening on campus and enjoy several local drag performances! This event is hosted by the Office of Multicultural Student Success. 

Morning Yoga

Time: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m.
Centennial Mall (Rain Location: Student Union, Ingman Room)

Start your day off right with some morning exercise. Join us for yoga on the mall and enjoy some free coffee and donuts. 

"The Other Side of Infinity Black Holes"

Time: 2:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

Ritter Planetarium and Brooks Observatory

Explore the sky over Toledo and learn more about space. Enjoy the striking, immersive animations of the formation of the early universe, star birth and death, the collision of giant galaxy, and a simulated flight to a super-massive black hole lurking at the center of our own Milky Way Galaxy.

Rocket Family Weekend Tailgate

Time: 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. 
Flatlands (Rain Location: Lancelot Thompson Student Union)

Get excited for as we prepare for the UToledo Rockets to take on Texas Southern. Enjoy the annual tradition of the Rocket Family Weekend Tailgate that includes good food, live music, and fun activities. Engage with families from all over, say hello to President Postel and various college deans. 

Make sure to grab a picture with Rocky and Rocksy or one of the many members of Blue Crew as you show off your Rocket Spirit! 

UToledo Rockets Vs Texas Southern Tigers

Rocket Family Weekend Movie Night

Time: 8 p.m. 
Centennial Mall

Come enjoy a movie under the stars. The Campus Activities and Programming Board is excited to present the Rocket Family Weekend Movie Night experience outside on Centennial Mall. Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and we will provide the movie theater snacks, along with pizza and drinks.

Toledo Zoo and Aquarium

Enjoy a relaxing Sunday wandering around the Toledo Zoo and Aquarium. With over 10,000 animals, representing over 720 difference species there is something for everyone. Make sure to stop by the Polar Bear exhibit and meet the two newest members of the Toledo Zoo family, Kallik and Kallu. 

Tickets are not included as part of the Rocket Family Weekend bundle, but can be purchased at the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium website.
