UToledo and ProMedica have come together to create a state-of-the-art neurosciences center.
ProMedica and The University of Toledo have come together to form a 50-year Academic Affiliation to transform medical education, research and clinical care.
UToledo’s neurology residency program is well-established and successful. The program has achieved a 100 percent first-time board pass rate for the last nine years, and residents are highly engaged in research, with 11 residents presenting posters at the 2017 American Association of Neurologists conference.
With more than 3.7 million patient encounters in the metro Toledo region, ProMedica is providing students, residents and fellows of The University of Toledo with a wide variety of experiences to guarantee a broader array of medical cases to enhance their education in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary education setting.
The joint neurosciences center will provide increased patient volume to support the research and education activities attractive to leading neurology physicians, faculty, residents and fellows.
There is nationwide a shortage of neurology specialists to serve patient needs. The joint neurosciences center will provide access to neurological services in northwest Ohio for patients who currently travel for specialized care and ensure there is a pipeline of medical talent to provide that care into the future.
