Acknowledgements

There are many people to thank for making this exhibit and catalog possible.  First and foremost, I would like to acknowledge the work of the 2010 University of Toledo Authors and Artists Exhibit Committee:  Thomas Atwood, Kimberly Brownlee, Mark Horan, Tamara Jones, Suhasini Kumar, Jolene Miller, John Napp, Arjun Sabharwal, and Mark Walker (web design). Credit for graphical concept and design goes to Sue Benedict.  Tyna Derhay in the dean’s office also assisted with the catalog production.  The photographs were taken by UT Photographer Daniel Miller and were provided by Marketing and Communication. The catalog requires a great deal of time and teamwork, and all of these individuals were essential to its completion.  The student assistants in the Ward M. Canaday Center for Special Collections were mainly responsible for the mounting of the authors’ portion of the exhibit, and they are also to be thanked:  Zach Dehm, Julia Deitz, Brandi Sharlow, Alex Smith, and Bradley Sommer.  Also, Linda Ames-Bell from the Department of Art mounted the art exhibition.

Information in this catalog was deemed accurate at the time of its publishing.  Any corrections necessary will be made to the web-based catalog.  Due to the overwhelming response this year, we were not able to include all publications in the exhibition, but all submitted materials are listed in the catalog.

Lastly, I would like to thank Dr. Lloyd Jacobs, UT president, for providing welcoming comments; and to Dr. John Murray, professor of Economics, for the preface to this catalog and for his opening remarks.

The University of Toledo Authors and Artists Exhibit has been a tradition at The University of Toledo since the 1950s.  It is wonderful to see that despite all of the changes in our institution since that time, some things remain.  Congratulations to all of the authors and artists included in this year’s exhibition.
