Heartsaver CPR w/AED

Location: Unless otherwise designated, the location will be in the Lloyd Jacobs Interprofessional Immersive Simulation Center on the UT Health Science Campus (2921 Transverse Dr, Toledo Ohio)
This class is designed for non-healthcare providers who need or want CPR. This is a simplified course in CPR and management of an obstructed airway. The course also includes training in the use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). At this time, no CME credits are issued thru the University of Toledo for this class. If cancellation is necessary, fees are not applied to later classes, and a refund should be requested. Refunds are issued as follows:
1) All cancellations must be provided in writing to lifesupport@utoledo.edu
2) Cancellation for any reason with at least 2 business days will result in no charge for that class, and a full refund can be provided, if class was pre-paid.
3) For any cancellation with LESS than 2 business days, the class fee will be forfeited. Any exceptions to this charge will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
4) ON THE DAY OF THE CLASS, If the person arrives after class has started, they will need to reschedule. If the person arrives for an advanced class (ACLS / PALS) without the required precourse document, they will need to reschedule. In BOTH of these situations of Item 4, the class fee is forfeited and no refund is provided.
All lay responders who may have access to an automated external defibrillator (AED), such as employees in the workplace, daycare employees, baby-sitters, firefighters (non-EMT), police, airline personnel, security guards, family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death, other lay rescuers, and those who may have a need to respond to an emergency.

Participants should obtain the most current Heartsaver textbook (2015 guidelines). Employees should obtain the textbook from their respective manager/coordinator, and non-employees may purchase a textbook from any AHA vendor (Laerdal, Channing-Bete, or Worldpoint ECC).
$50.00 if non-employee and $ 35.00 if UT student or employee paying for this on their own. Fees do NOT include cost of a textbook (refer to Student Materials section). The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.
