Program Overview
This Registered Respiratory Therapy program is 100% online and is designed as a nontraditional track for individuals who have completed an associate's degree in respiratory care and have already earned the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential granted by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Our courses are taught by full-time faculty who are Registered Respiratory Therapists with advanced degrees and extensive clinical training and experience.

Accreditation Statement
The University of Toledo’s accredited respiratory care program has received the Ohio Board of Regent’s prestigious Program Excellence Award. In 2017, it received the Distinguished RRT Credentialing Success Award from the national Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care.
Program Details
The program includes upper division professional courses, which are currently contained in our traditional B.S. program, but allows for student selection of an area of specialization for enhanced professional growth. In addition, the professional support courses encompass many issues in health care and health education that are relevant to the practicing professional.

CAREER OUTLOOK
Registered Respiratory Therapy graduates provide care to patients, from newborns to the elderly. They work in diverse settings — hospitals, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, home care and physicians' offices.
The job market continues to be strong for registered respiratory therapy. UToledo has a 100% job placement rate for recent graduates. Our graduates work almost exclusively in hospitals. They have been hired by all area hospitals and every children’s hospital in Ohio and at the University of Michigan.
