Internships
Business Career Programs Office
The Business Career Programs Office connects students with local, nationwide and sometimes global companies to complete internships in order to obtain real-world work experience while earning course credit. More than 85% of our students participate in at least one internship during their undergraduate education.
Seeking academic credit for an internship?
At the John B. and Lillian E. Neff College of Business and Innovation, you can apply your internship toward course credit, helping you stay on track to complete your degree while obtaining practical work experience in your chosen field.
The Neff College uses Handshake as its official job platform to connect students with internship opportunities. If you need assistance with your Handshake account, the Rocket Career Center is here to help.
If you're working a full-time internship and cannot take classes while receiving a university scholarship or financial aid, reach out to Dr. Terribeth Gordon-Moore at Terribeth.Gordon@utoledo.edu to adjust your aid until you're back in classes.
In your E-mail, please include the following information:
- Your Rocket ID #
- Company name, City and State where your internship is located
- Semester and year that you will not be attending class (Ex. Spring 2024)
Practical Work Experience
(No credit earned or attached)
'Practical Work Experience' refers to pursuits that complement your academic experience, providing opportunities for personal growth, skill development and social engagement outside of the classroom and do not carry any academic credit.
These valuable experiences not only enhance your skills but also expand your professional network.
By documenting your journey, you’ll create a powerful portfolio that showcases your growth and achievements. Plus, with Handshake, you can effortlessly link your internships to your account, making it easier than ever to share your experience with potential employers.
