Community Health

One community health program in Williams County helps 8^th graders work through tough situations they may be faced with. The Bryan AHEC partners with the community’s Teen Task Force to present annual educational assemblies. The Task Force contracts with a social issue theatre group to provide theatrical vignettes dealing with issues that are currently facing teens in Williams County. After each vignette the students are able to discuss the situation with the actors and find positive ways to work through difficult situations. Recent topics have included dating violence, misuse of prescription drugs, sexting, and cyberbullying.
